Hamdan Akram is a senior technology executive, entrepreneur, and trainer based in Kuala Lumpur. Across two decades, he has built a career that bridges cybersecurity, data protection, AI, data sciences, and digital transformation, with executive accountability at multiple Malaysian companies and a portfolio of his own ventures.
He currently serves as CISO and DPO at Omniteam Sdn Bhd, Head of Digital Transformation, Information Security, Integrity, and Data Protection Officer at Sedunia Travel Services, and Information Security Officer at the UZMA Group. In each role, he leads the conversation that boards and regulators care most about: how to operate confidently under PDPA 2010 and the 2024 amendments, GDPR, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, NIST CSF, COBIT, PCI DSS, and Bank Negara RMiT, without slowing the business.
Alongside his executive roles, Hamdan is the founder of SOFTNET Technologies, an established IT services firm operating since 2002, SOFTNET Sdn Bhd, an MD-Status technology company, SOFTNET Technology Park, an HRDC-registered training provider, Healthsphere Solutions, a digital health business, and the Dot Infinity group, covering company secretarial services, travel and tours, and property development.
His credentials include a PhD in Data Sciences, a Master's in Marketing and Mass Communications, a Bachelor's in Computer Sciences, the full ISACA stack (CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CDPSE), the full Microsoft certification stack, Certified Ethical Hacker, PMP, and AI Generalist.
He speaks, trains, and advises on cybersecurity, data protection, AI strategy, and governance, and works with boards, operators, and regulators across Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region. Hamdan is, by his own admission, not a coffee drinker, but he is always up for a meeting over fresh juice or a fruit platter.
